Creativity-Based Mindfulness Skills Training

Caroline is a Board-Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. Ten years ago, she founded Springboard Studio in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. As of December 1, 2016, Caroline is on an unpaid sabbatical near Ithaca, NY. Caroline will be applying for her NY State License as a Creative Arts Therapist and resume her practice and programs in the Finger Lakes area in the Spring.

Caroline’s innovative work with Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy, beginning in 2000, was the focus of two NIH funded research studies in oncology from 2001-2010. Caroline was a clinician, from 2010-2016 with the Supportive Care Team at the Joan Karnell Cancer Programs, Abramson Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital/Penn Medicine where she developed a new mindfulness-based art therapy program, Walkabout: Looking In, Looking Out.

Caroline received advanced training to teach MBSR at The Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School; she received her graduate degree as an art therapist at Hahnemann/Drexel University in Philadelphia. Caroline has a number of articles and publications to her credit, including a chapter in Mindfulness in the Creative Arts Therapies and a current article in the journal Art Therapy, on the mindfulness-based art therapy program Walkabout: Looking In, Looking Out: Free download online:
